Barack Echols is Of Counsel in Eimer Stahl’s Chicago office. Barack concentrates his practice in the areas of antitrust and complex commercial litigation, and has broad experience in class action defense, bankruptcy-related litigation, arbitration and responding to government investigations into claims of anticompetitive practices and consumer fraud. Barack has represented corporate clients in arbitration and in federal and state courts throughout the United States in direct- and indirect-purchaser price-fixing class actions, merger litigation, price-discrimination suits, consumer fraud matters and contract disputes.

Barack has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business every year since 2014, with clients noting he is a “terrific lawyer” who is “making a name as a ‘sharp’ practitioner.” He has been selected as an “Illinois Super Lawyer” in Antitrust by Super Lawyers magazine every year since 2013.

Eimer Stahl’s attorneys have decades of experience in litigating high-stakes civil and criminal antitrust matters, guiding clients through government investigations and transaction pre-clearance review, and offering creative solutions to the most complex antitrust issues.

Our antitrust practice is global in scope, and we have successfully defended leading national and international corporations in significant private class action litigation in a wide range of industries, including the energy, electronics, technology, agriculture, insurance, and manufacturing sectors.

We also have defended corporate and individual clients in numerous grand jury antitrust investigations and before state and federal enforcement agencies. Eimer Stahl combines this unparalleled experience with a uniquely innovative and strategic approach to antitrust litigation, consistently striving to deliver the best results to our clients in their most challenging endeavors.

When we formed Eimer Stahl in 2000, we set out to create a different kind of litigation firm—one that would deliver outstanding results for clients, but take a more personal, creative approach to getting there.  And that’s what we’ve done.

Today, our firm has a solid track record of resolving the most complicated cases intelligently and efficiently. Our clients trust us to handle their most challenging legal problems—antitrust cases, class actions, multidistrict environmental and product liability litigation, energy regulatory proceedings, securities litigation, and other high-stakes commercial disputes.

We’re compact, focused, and agile. Yet we have a national litigation presence, with the capacity to resolve the largest, most complex legal matters. We leverage technology to serve our clients with the responsiveness of a small firm and the capabilities of a large one.  Our leading-edge e-discovery platform reduces discovery costs and timelines while improving the accuracy, consistency, and automation of the discovery process.

Barack Echols is a commercial litigator with notable expertise in the antitrust space. He handles a range of contentious matters including merger litigation and class action cases.”
